Oracle or JBASE was created by Ramin
Hi, Friends! I have one question about T24. Which BD is good for T24,
Oracle or JBASE? I know Oracle is the best BD among all BD, but we
don't know how it will work for T24!
Thanks!
With Best Regards,
Ramin

I hope it depends upon the data size.
If its huge then choice is oracle through jbase(JEDI) because its difficult to maintain the database in jbase if its huge.
Another option where Oracle comes in to picture is when the client has lot of interfaces running in oracle.

Hi,
Have you read the new features in jBase5. I think this is more suitable than oracle performance wise becouse when we use jEDI (we have to use it to run T24) it parse the data to oracle DB in XML format. As we know that XML format is the slowest form of data retieval and insertion in DB. For the weakness of large file size in jBase 4.1 now jBase 5 support large file size & also you don't need to resize files in jBase 5 becouse it has the automatic mechinism of resizing files.

Hi,
I am wondering why the hell they used full XML format to write them into DB, if they have used XML format only for multi-value fields, it could have been much faster....Hope they improve the data retreival from DB faster next time!!!

Yes the new jbase5 has jPLUS feature where it does everything on its own. So oracle option is completely ruled out.
But we need to look in to the performance. As the file size grows, there will be a performance hit in fetching the records itself.
