Tuning T24 Browser performance was created by prajwol
Hi
We are running T24 Browser. Everything is working fine, but accessing T24 from remote sites - where i have network bandwidth of 256k, is way too slow. However, the Desktop version runs fine on the same line.
Is there anything we can do to improve the performance? atleast; bring it as close to Desktop?
Thanks

You could possibly check for Packet Transmission Errors which could be affecting the performance.

i think clearing the F.OFS.XML.CACHE file periodically can improve performance of browser.

Is it possible to Clear F.OS.XML.CACHE without stopping TCServer and TSM?

We're running with 64kbps in our branches and 512 in our head office.
The browser is running with acceptable response time.
To achieve this, we had to set up local web server and t24browser in every branch.
We've tried using web server located in our head office, but the response time is unacceptable. We checked the bandwidth usage, and found out that the web server traffic is huge, most likely to send out the page structure, java runtime, and all the necessary script.
By setting up the web server locally, the traffic and network usage is lower, most likely because the traffic is only (compressed - and encrypted in our case) XML containing necessary data.
Best regards,
Ferry

Hi
Actually desktop will run fine because the client is using windows native GUI management while in the browser for each request the server has to re render the web page. so there is no way you can match speeds here.
At our bank when we decided to use browser we certainly had to re vamp our communications infrastructure (had to upgrade to DSL as much as possible, upgrade routers at branches etc).
At software end we had to deploy web sphere message queuing just to handle excessive requests and similarly hardware at server end was also upgraded to handle 750 plus branches
In the end running t24 on browsers is not and easy task.
regards
Ali

Dear ferryari
Hi
Can you please elaborate/share the architecture you are using with the local web server. I mean how do you sync with server and how many branches are there we are talking about.
Running t24 separately for each branch is a new concept for me.
Kind regards
Ali

Why don't you check your network as well. because some times going through couple of firewalls will slow down your system.
Hi Ali,
We are setting up webSphere environment for T24 R09 and still we are in implementation stage. before going live we need to check our browser performance and It's great if you can share your experience with browsers load testing.
Cheers

Hi Guys,
I also want to know how to setup multi local web server on TOMCAT to access a single T24 server to improve the browser performance. I only have one web server and remote branches suffers browser performance.

Hi All,
As I understand to have separate web-server in every branch.
For those who using TCServer:
Yes you can have multiple web-server and one TCServer but it will be better to have number of listeners = number of web-server and for that you have to set channel.xml file accordingly. One listener can also accommodate requests from all web-server but I recommend to use separate listener or separate TCServer (to have separate TCServer, first you need to check your hardware capacity) for each web-server so maintenance will be easy otherwise you have to down the system and it will not be available for whole bank if you have to do something.
For those who using agent architecture;
you can also have multiple web-server and one agent running on T24 server it will serve all request.
Hope this will clarify you...
Thanks & Regards,
Sarfraz Rajput
