R10 Localhost in Windows 7 was created by concern
Has anyone managed to install and run R10 localhost on Windows 7. I keep getting multiple errors. One of the most frustrating ones is my Terminal Emulator typing characters in doubles whenever i press 1 key. i use TeraTerm. Putty has the same problem. The other problem is when u satrt agents, they crash especially jbase_agent

You need to enable the telnet client / server on Win 7 first.
Start
Control Panel

Turn Windows features on or off
Check Telnet Client

Hi Kripesh,
Can you give ne the following details if you don't mind and have the time.
Which version of Win 7 are you running ( I am running Win 7 Enterprise)
Which Terminal Emulator are you using ( I am using TeraTerm and Putty)
Does your jbase crash at all if you start your agents?
Thanks in advance.

Certain things that needs to be installed in your PC includes ( Windows )
1. jdk-6-windows-i586 or higher
2. Install VC++ 2005 ( Runtime / Redistribute is sufficient )
3. Install TAFC
Also see if you are using 32 bit or 64 bit version. This could also be a problem. There are separate files for 32 / 64 bit versions.
Also have the latest .Net Framework

So far only VT/Term is good for localhost emulator but only runs on 32 bit computers.
Putty works fine on ssh but not telnet connection, i am referring to when you used JED inside this emulator. Tera Term is also good for localhost telnet but you cannot do a keyboard mapping. Cheers!
