Restriction Menuitems for specific user in T24. was created by kmanyam
How can we restrict Menu items that are displayed on home page for specific user? Is it just configuration? I am looking ways to achieve this without requiring Temenos consultants help.

It's only setup in USER and HELPTEXT.MAINMENU / HELPTEXT.MENU
INIT.APPLICATION
Specifies that, whenever the User Signs On from the Classic interface he will always go straight into the same Application immediately, without having to enter the Application name.
Note that this should not be viewed as a security measure as the user can still switch to another permitted application.
If this field is not used, the System will request the User to enter an Application name as soon as SIGN.ON is complete.
Input to this field is free format. It may be used in the same way as the ACTION line to enter an Application (or Abbreviation or Version) name and, optionally, a Function Code and a Record ID.
If a Menu is required as the initial Application, '?n' should be entered for a Main Menu, where 'n' is the Id of the Main Menu required, or '?xx' for a System Menu where 'xx' is the Id of the Menu. Whenever a menu has been specified in a User Profile, the system will always return to this menu at the Top level.

Thanks jpb, It says that INIT.APPLICATION setting is valid only for classical interface. Can we control this for web front-end as well?

I already tried... Set INIT.APPLICATION to PASSWORD.RESET (INIT.APPLICATION.... PASSWORD.RESET
), and logged in from browser. I still standard menu with all other menu items/apps. May be some other setting is required along with it.

Dear Shravan,
how should PASSWORD.RESET change the menu ??
You must input a menu:
If a Menu is required as the initial Application, '?n' should be entered for a Main Menu, where 'n' is the Id of the Main Menu required, or '?xx' for a System Menu where 'xx' is the Id of the Menu. Whenever a menu has been specified in a User Profile, the system will always return to this menu at the Top level.
Any other input just starts the app like SIGN.ON.ITEM.

Apology for my ignorance. I tried to put ?66 or ?XX.SYS.USER.ADMIN.IT in this field, but still not working. It shows full blown menu.
I will invest more time on this later. May be I am still missing something.
Thanks for all your help so far.

It worked!!! :) after I removed MAIN.SCREEN settings from BROWSER.PREFERENCES. That was taking priority over INIT.APPLICATION STTINGS.
Now, I need to try to show only specific submenu item (as of now it shows all sub menu items).

I suppose you have to design specific HELPTEXT.MENU or HELPTEXT.MAIN.MENU to achieve this ;-)
